Scissor Lift Dock Leveler
A lifting-platform arrangement for transferring goods between loading levels. Final selection depends on the documented site conditions and the supplying manufacturer’s configuration.

Where to consider this arrangement
A lifting-platform arrangement for transferring goods between loading levels.
- Confirm lowest and highest transfer levels.
- Confirm load distribution.
- Confirm transfer plates and guarding.
When to review alternatives
Do not select this arrangement if the required working space, mounting conditions or operating envelope cannot be demonstrated. Existing equipment and civil works must be measured before a replacement is proposed.
Which transfer levels should be recorded?
Record the lowest and highest loading levels and describe how goods enter and leave the platform. Include load distribution and the proposed transfer-plate and guarding interfaces for review.

| Parameter | Review catalogue entry | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Listed capacity groups | 2000 / 4000 / 6000 kg | Confirm load distribution and transfer method. |
| Lowered height | 350 / 450 / 550 mm by capacity group | Select the exact row and check site transfer levels. |
| Travel | 1200 / 1300 / 1600 mm across listed configurations | Do not combine an arbitrary travel with another row. |
| Lip arrangement | Manual or electric option listed | Confirm transfer-plate scope and controls. |
Open technical items: The platform Size column omits units. Exact platform dimensions and configuration require a confirmed drawing.
What should be checked?
Agree the inspection scope with the supplying manufacturer before order. Relevant checks include dimensions against the approved drawing, component identity, mounting details, visible condition, applicable functional checks, marking and packing.
Inspection records to agreeWhat configuration is required?
Describe the operating sequence and site constraints. Confirm materials, finish, electrical requirements and control interfaces where applicable. Options shown in reference illustrations are not automatically included in the order.
Know what your quotation includes
Compare the same equipment and installation scope. Ask for an itemised offer showing the selected configuration, included items and exclusions.
No universal standard package is confirmed in this review. Agree the following scope before comparing prices.
| Scope to identify | Written confirmation to request |
|---|---|
| Platform, load support and transfer levels | Exact model, construction and drawing revision. |
| Transfer plates and guarding interfaces | Included equipment, separately priced options and excluded site work. |
| Power, control positions and foundation | Interfaces, responsibilities and required documentation. |

Ground-level loading: yard ramp or scissor lift dock leveler?
A yard ramp uses an inclined travel route; a scissor lift dock leveler changes the transfer height with a platform. Compare available space, vehicle height, handling method and load distribution before choosing an approach for a site without a fixed dock.
Dock leveler capacity: is forklift lifting capacity enough?
No. A forklift lifting-capacity label does not describe the total moving load imposed on a dock leveler. Provide the truck operating weight, attachments, maximum carried load, wheel and axle information, travel conditions and frequency. Ask the supplying manufacturer to confirm the rating basis and suitability of the proposed configuration.
How to determine loading dock height
Determine the dock height from the vehicles and handling process the bay must serve. Record the range of vehicle deck heights and operating conditions before selecting the equipment or fixing the civil design.
Questions before you specify
Which transfer levels should be recorded?
Record the lowest and highest loading levels and describe how goods enter and leave the platform. Include load distribution and the proposed transfer-plate and guarding interfaces for review.
Is JD-2003 a complete order specification?
A product-family reference is not a complete order specification. Record dimensions, load conditions, controls, installation interfaces and the agreed supplier configuration in the project documents before ordering.
Can I use an existing pit or mounting position?
Existing interfaces need to be measured and checked against the selected equipment drawing. Do not assume that similar equipment has the same fixing, clearance or structural requirements.
What if I do not have all the dimensions?
Start with site photographs and any available drawings. Leave unknown values blank in the project brief and identify them for confirmation. A dimensioned drawing and site verification are needed before final selection.
